Keep Calm and Craft On

"The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below." - Nicole of Frontier Dreams

Girl Scout SWAPs. For those not in the know, SWAPs are Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned somewhere. Girls trade them whenever them get together it seems in larger groups. Since our Service Unit is meeting to go caroling around the neighborhood, and join back up for hot cocoa and cookies, we're going to exchange SWAPs (rather then try to do a gift exchange, which can get a bit tricky and leave a lot of feelings hurt).

Lizzy (with a bit of help from me) is making winter hat Swaps from some of my extra bits of yarn and the plastic ring from soda bottles. I love a craft that recycles what we already have!

1 down, just 28 more to go!

I wonder what Lexi is going to try and make for a winter/holiday themed SWAP?

I'm linking up over to Frontier Dreams - where you can find more links to crafty goodness!

Menu Planning Monday - November 26th

Well, I don't know about you, but I'm happy to have survived Thanksgiving! The chickpea tart I was attempting didn't come out so great, but I have found another copy of recipe and am going to give it a go, when not under the pressure of doing a holiday meal in the mist of a working holiday.

Busy week again though. Not because of work (as of 6am Tuesday, I'm on vacation for 6 nights!), but my oldest will be turning 14 on Friday!

So without further ado....

Monday - Pasta night (mom's away to Girl Scout cookie training!)
Tuesday - Microwave dinner night (after Cub Scout pack meeting)
Wednesday - Pasta night (yes, again, mom is off to bell choir)
Thursday - Fajitas (finally, a decent home cooked meal!)
Friday - Bagel pizzas (birthday girls choice)
Saturday -
Sunday - Baked ziti

A My Memories Suite Giveaway!

WE HAVE A WINNER!!

Congratulations ChristinaF93

I was previously given the opportunity to review the My Memories Suite digital scrapbook software. After becoming an affiliate for the program, I have the ability to once again host a giveaway of this fantastic scrapbooking software!.

This software is available for both windows, as well as mac users! So you can play around on it regardless of owning a PC or a Mac.

Since my initial review, the software has updated a couple of times, keeping up with the changing wants and needs of customers. I have found the software relatively easy to use. So much so, that I was able to make a simple page in less then 10 minutes!
Now, in addition to scrapbook pages, designers have different craft templates as well. From small gift boxes, to cupcake wrappers and party hats. There definitely something for everyone.

While My Memories Suite comes with plenty of  templates, papers, monograms and embellishments to get you started on your way to digital scrapbooking, I really love looking at all the extra kits and templates from their store. I have bought many in the year since my initial review, but there is also plenty of free kits available to download as well. And it is just as easy to add purchased and free items as it is to use the program.

So cute, and finally a way to preserve photos in more then just endless files upon files "gathering dust" on my computer hard drive!

Keep Calm, Craft On

So my knitting hasn't seen much action in months. Lizzy's Wonderful Wallaby is currently sitting at the "started sleeves" section of the pattern, but I've been slow to get moving on from just doing the cuffs.

I had been hoping to try and knit both sleeves at once, but I'm quickly learning I'm not quiet up to that kind of difficulty yet. I'm also thinking I'll need 1 29" circular needle. Right now I'm using a 24" and it's a tight fit, adding the sleeves will make it impossible for me to knit! Won't my husband be excited I'll need to head to the craft store! tee hee

So there it is, very much in the spot I got to just before the back to school craziness began. While I was hoping to have it done in time for Christmas, at this point I'm hoping to have it done in time for Easter! That should be able the time we can start wearing more sweaters and keeping winter coats at home more.

Besides the knitting, I've been also starting to think about, and gather materials for, Christmas gifts. I won't say here, in case any family reads this, but the kids should love what I'm making for them this year. :)

Today I'm linking up with Nicole over at Frontier Dreams

Menu Planning Monday - November 5th

So Here we are, a day late it seems. Monday's have been awful busy. It's back to school, a work night, and now every other week, it's Girl Scout night too! This year I'm not co-leading, but leading a troop of 1st year Junior Girl Scouts. Very busy, very exciting, and mostly (in true to me fashion, chaotic!

Menu planning is more important now then every it seems, to stretch dollar and have a plan for evenings when I'm not home enough to cook dinner myself. Between myself, dad, and the 2 oldest, everyone gets fed at least!

Monday - Pasta with sauce.
Tuesday - Leftover Turkey soup (I bought a couple of turkey thighs to make this, we didn't have a left over turkey! but it's an awesome soup that the kids and J absolutely love).
Wednesday - Subs and chips
Thursday - Tacos
Friday - Pasta night (mom into work early)
Saturday - Pizza night (mom into work early)
Sunday - Shopping day - maybe a fun finger food night to have with football!

Of course make sure to check out I'm an Organizing Junkie for more menu planning tips and links!

Neglect

I feel as if I have been neglecting this place for a long while now. Not intentionally, just that life has been busy. It happens when you add in a part time job, responsibilities to church, scouting, etc; and 3 very active children. I know I'm not the only one who is losing track of days and time in the attempt to keep everything running like a smooth ship at home. Somethings have gone to the wayside, this blog being one of them it seems.

But, as we begin our 3rd month of the school year, everything seems to finally be finding it's nitch. Scouting meetings for all 3 kids have somehow miraculously happen to not overlap, and I am still able to find the 1 hour a week to play in my church's handbell choir (a nice mid-week respite for me). Liz is back to riding horses on Saturdays, Lex should be starting winter/indoor track soon (currently recovering from a concussion from a hit to the head in gym class), and Andrew is anxious to find some place to play indoor soccer, but happy to finally be old enough to be busy in Cub scouts for the time being.

We are so blessed.

So I'm going to make attempts to come here at least once a week, besides the Menu Planning Monday posts (sadly, even those seem to have been on the back burner). I miss posting here, and now that I seem to have sorted out how to write posts a head of time to publish later (who knew?!?!) perhaps I can be a presence here more often.

Menu Planning Monday - September 17th

Here we are again. Does the madness of chasing 3 kids never end? I love it, but some days I just need two of me! Two school open house events for the two youngest kids this week (and that includes me sitting at Girl Scout information tables then too), and bell choir. Lizzy is re-starting her riding lessons this weekend, thank goodness it's a weekend off.

Without further ado:

Monday - Chicken and rice, carrots
Tuesday - Hot dogs (and vegetarian hot dogs) and macaroni and cheese
Wednesday - One dish vegetarian pasta
Thursday - Black beans and rice
Friday - Chicken fingers and french fries
Saturday - Pizza night
Sunday - Fend-for-yourself (shopping day)

After school snacks include:
vegetables and ranch dip
sunflower seeds
homemade muffins (apple spice, snickerdoodle)
pretzles

Menu Planning Monday - September 3rd

And finally, school is back in session!

Between work, soccer, summer camps, and so much more, I basically took the summer "off' from blogging. I was finding it tedious and "work" and something I wasn't very proud of at the end of the day. So much has changed, yet stayed the same, since my last posting... but we'll have time to catch up later.

For now, I leave you with this weeks menu!

Monday: Take-out... busy night this night before the first day of school!
Tuesday: Chicken fingers and french fries with veggie snack tray
Wednesday: Pasta with marinara sauce, and side salad
Thursday: Chicken and rice, with broccoli
Friday: Leftovers, fend-for-yourself night
Saturday: Pizza with side salad
Sunday:  Shopping day, we'll see what tickles mom's fancy!

Menu Planning Monday - July 2nd

July already - where has 2012 gone?!?!

This will be a simpler week, as our eldest is off to camp for the week, and summer soccer has not started yet. With just the 2 youngest home, I'm hoping for a "calmer" week.

Monday -  BLT's
Tuesday - Pasta with sauce, salad
Wednesday - 4th of July holiday: grilling, of course (and seeing fireworks!)
Thursday - Fend-For-Yourself night
Friday - Subs with veggies and dip, chips
Saturday - Pizza night
Sunday - Tacos

As always, make sure to check out I'm an Organizing Junkie for more menu planning tips and links!

Menu Planning Monday - June 25th

Part of getting back into the blogging saddle is posting in weekly menu.

Having just gotten back from Girl Scout camp yesterday, I really need a menu this week to get my family back on track and into the swing of finding a routine for summer.

Monday - Pasta night
Tuesday - Fajitas
Wednesday - Grilling, with salad and salt potatoes
Thursday - Chicken and rice, with broccoli
Friday - Chef salad
Saturday -  Pizza night
Sunday - Fend-for-Yourself night

Make sure to head over to I'm an Organizing Junkie for more menu planning ideas and links!

Surviving June...

I have been absent form this space for quiet awhile now, and not without some good reasoning.
June is an incredible month. Incredibly busy month at that. I feel it's actually worse then the holiday season in the winter, to be honest.

With that said, I'm "back" in the saddle again with blogging. I'll be making my regular updates here again now that school, girl scouts, band and jazz band, lacrosse and more have either ended or at least greatly slowed down for the summer.

Writer's Workshop: Fourth Grade

Mama’s Losin’ It

This weeks writing prompts from Mama Kat includes:
  • Share a story from fourth grade.
  • Describe where you were when you met a boy.
  • Write about a time you saw someone doing something kind for someone else
  • Name something you swore you'd never do when you had kids, but now find yourself doing.
  • List the songs that tell your life story (so far).

While making a list of songs that tell my life story would be awesome, I considered how long the list would be and decided instead to tell a story from fourth grade.

The summer before I started fourth grade was the year my brothers and I moved in with my father in the quaint town of Seneca Falls, New York. My father had grown up there with his 3 older brothers and parents, all of which still lived there. It was on a six month trial that we moved in with him,  granted by the judge presiding over the custody case. (I'll spoil that ending, the move became permanent after the six month trail ended)

Moving had been both an easy, and uneasy thing for me. It was great that basically all my family lived in one town. My mother, who had been adopted, had no siblings, no other local family, save her (adoptive) parents; the very cool grandparents I wrote about previously. On the other hand, I knew no one else at all, and especially no one my age.

But that isn't really isn't part of the story I am going to tell you. I am going to tell you about the teacher of my 4th grade class, Mrs Basley. Mrs Basley had a fondness for the Peanuts gang, in particularly Snoopy. I remember she was very kind to me, at a time where, even though I loved being in Seneca Falls more then Geneva, was rough.

Now, I have been called a decent student in my youth. Math and science were subjects I easily picked up and did well on. But one thing no one has ever said I've done well is spell.

I carried a low D grade for spelling in fourth grade (which brought down those A's and B's considerably). And it was with great shock to me that 1 day during a typical spelling test that my teacher bent down and told me to consider re-looking over a couple of my words. I think she may have even said the line numbers to reconsider.

I couldn't believe it! I thought she was helping me to cheat by telling me what words I had gotten wrong, before handing in my test. Looking back now, I know the difference between looking back over my work and actual cheating, but to my little 10 year old self, it blew my mind.

Tuesday - Tacos (made in the oven)
Wednesday - Pasta with meatballs, salad
Thursday - Chicken and rice, with broccoli
Friday - "Happy Hour" dinner menu: nachos, finger foods, veggies and dip

Writer's Workshop: Top Ten Summer

Mama’s Losin’ It

Summer.

How doesn't love summer? At least here in the Northeast part of the United States, summer is generally a lovely time of year. The weather is warm (though sometimes hot and humid, but nothing like the south regions deal with). The sun is bright and the days are long compared to are cold, short days of winter.

So, Today I am going to share my top ten things about summer when I was growing up.

10: No school.
And while this may seem to be a very obvious one for any school aged child, my reasons are for more then merely avoiding school work. Growing up, I was often bullied at school. I moved to the very close knit community of Seneca Falls when I was 9 years old, and entered 4th grade. By that time, many kids were already in their own little friendship groups, and I was very much an outcast until high school. The bullying through mostly steamed from my appearance, as I was overweight and in my opinion, not particularly girly looking. I was often called "Shamoo" (as in the killer whale at sea world), even after i had developed an eating disorder and lost a massive amount of weight in a very short time. Summer was very much a relief from the daily taunts i endured during those terrible middle school years.

9: No particular set schedule.
This was more so after I turned 12 and we no longer had to be carted off to a babysitters house daily in the summer. If i wanted to read, I could read without having to move to the next class, go to gym, etc... I burned through a lot of books with summer reading growing up.

8: The Sun.
While I admit that I really dislike the heat. Even here in New York it can get rather hot, and add in humidity, and it's just terrible to me. But, I love the sun. It's not for tanning or anything like that, but just the pure simple fact that a sunny day is usually a much more pleasant day then an overcast one. Spring and autumn are often overcast and damp from the rains, and winter can be overcast, and the days are very short even for days with sun. Since we don't get a whole lot of sun light the rest of the year, so I'll take it where I can get it!

7: Money making opportunities.
For me, this meant babysitting. I often babysat for kids in the neighborhood, my cousins and family at church. While now that I am older I understand how good it was for me to have something to do, some responsibility. But as a teen, what I loved most was having a reason to act like a little kid and not be seen as "immature".
Heck, that maybe half the reason I have children, too!

6: Grandma and Grandpa's house.
My brothers and I spent a lot of time at our maternal grandparent's house growing up. My grandmother was the one who taught me to crochet and cross stitch by the age of 10. She tried to teach me to knit as well, but it took another 20 years for it to finally stick. Our grandfather would take us on walks and hikes around the local area. We would spend hours fishing in nearby streams and fishing holes, travel to some pretty awesome, yet far away playgrounds. We would walk to the neighbors house to swim with their kids on particularly hot days. He taught my brother Terry how to use a pocket knife, and would do simple wood working projects with both of us. He taught me how to walk on stilts. He would read books (upon books) to any of us that would sit in his lap (my baby brother Matthew in particular loved this). Big Sunday brunches and evening cookouts... there was almost no better house to be at in the summer time.

5: Wheels, wheels, and more wheels.
Weather it was my younger beginnings on roller skates, my teen years spent on roller blades or the constant bicycle that I rode seemingly everywhere, summer riding around was a lot more fun (and a lot easier without the spring snow melting or the wet clumps of fall leaves!)

4: Fresh blackberries.
Our backyard growing up was fenced in on 3 sides. The western side of the fence was home to blackberry bushes. The first week or so of July always brought around a lovely harvest of blackberries. We would pick the berries on our side of the fence, and our neighbors got a good share of berries on their side too. The berries never last long, so they were never made into pie or jam... berries were best eating by the hand fulls (and often right off the branch!)

3: Sleep overs.
There was a time in my teens where almost every night of summer it seemed like I had friends over to spend the night, or I was off spending the nights at my friends homes. Living in a home with just my dad and brothers, I really valued the girly time I got to have with my girl friends.

2: Sleeping in!
Self explanatory, no? As a night owl, watching at the crack of dawn has never been my strong suit (which is why I've always tried to have evenings or overnight jobs). I'm just not wired that way to be up with the birds. Summer time sleeping in was also the best.

1: Time spent at Vince's Park.
Growing up my dad would often take my brothers and I to spend our late afternoon and evenings swimming at the park the company he worked for own. It had a huge pool, with lap lanes, a diving section and a kiddie area. I would live in that pool as much as I could in the summer. I'm a regular fish out of water. Maybe it's the Pisces in me. Then there was also a snack bar with all the summer favorites (hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, slushies, soda, popcorn, etc..). There was a mini golf course, and a small playground. Baseball fields and covered pavilions. The park was host to the annual company picnic (also a good day there!) and one week a summer there was swim lessons for the kids. I couldn't think of a single place I spent more time at during the summer as a kid growing up.
The company no longer owns the park, it is a town park open to all town residents now, but it's still holds a special place in my heart.

Keep Calm, Craft On

What started out as an innocent little knit horse for my daughter may soon turn into a stable full of horse, each looking in particularly like ones at the stables she takes riding lessons from.

Here we have Nutmeg... who will finally have a finished mane and tail tonight as I was able to wrangle this back from said daughter to work on while I'm wide awake overnight.

And this would be Buzz, in the making.

And I'm still plugging away at that first sweater of mine. Last week I had just started the placket, and now I am half way done with the hood! About 6 more inches of knitting, and all I'll need to do is seam the hood and the 2 underarm area (and a big of weaving in ends). The seaming is done with the kitchener stitch, something I haven't done yet. Maybe that is why I am dragging my feet to finish this...

Another Monday - so here we are, with another menu!

It's a crazy week with a Jazz band concert, girl scout planning meeting, handbell practice, youth group, 1 home game for lacrosse, work, T-ball, horse riding AND mother's day! Tuesday - Pasta night
Wednesday - "fend for yourself" night
Thursday - Homemade mac and cheese, with broccoli
Friday - Tacos
Saturday - Homemade pizza night (deep dish style)
Sunday - Mother's Day! I get to choose and at this time, I'm not sure what I want (that i don't have to cook and my husband and kids can manage)

Keep Calm, Craft On

Progress on my first every knit sweater is coming along smoothly now. About 2 weeks ago I had just started the placket and didn't pick up my knitting for awhile (and before that, I hadn't touched it since before Christmas!). Now, we've made the split in the placket and are nearing the neck before moving onto the hood.

I have high hopes I may finish this before his birthday yet!!

I used a  keep-calm-o-matic to make the logo at the top of this post - if you are interested in doing one yourself.

Menu Planning Monday - April 30th

So, here we are - another busy week. last week was really kind of low key, and I liked it much better. It seems about every other week (the week with Girl Scouts) we're running ragged.

If anyone was considering trying the recipe i posted last week for the Peanut butter cup brownies - they were DELICIOUS! But if you wanted to try the slow cooker fajitas (with chicken rather then beef), I advise against it. Now, don't get me wrong, it wasn't BAD... but rather there was a lot of standing liquid and the meat itself was dry. Yea, in a slow cooker, I can't figure that one out.

So here is how our week is working itself out:

Monday - Macaroni and cheese, corn dogs, assorted veggies with dip
Tuesday - Breakfast (french toast bake, eggs, sausage, fruit)
Wednesday - Pasta night, salad
Thursday - clean out the fridge night! (left overs)
Friday - "Happy Hour" Friday dinner: chicken fingers, homemade mozzarella sticks, veggie tray with ranch dip (we missed this last week)
Saturday - Pizza night
Sunday - Grilled chicken, corn, salad

As always, make sure to check out I'm an Organizing Junkie for more menu planning ideas!

Keep Calm, Craft On

This post has been sitting in my drafts for 3 days now, so I figured I may as well finish it up - right?

I am sorry to say that I have no photo of my project this week, as we have had rain the last 5 days straight. No complaints, we really needed it.

Anyways - I am slowly but surely working on a Wonderful Wallaby for Andrew (link is to my Ravelry project page)

I'm finally to the part where the placket is forming, but we haven't divided to create the opening yet that will lead into the neck and then hood. I've pretty much been at this point since early October (I always seem to have a post-holiday lull in crafting, I just can't do it)

At any rate, I hope that MAYBE I will have to done for his birthday... in mid-June (that's just shy of 2 months, do able - right? maybe....)

Sadly, the knit horse I was working on my last KCCO post is sitting unfinished - i keep getting distracted while sewing the seams and am only about 1/4 of the way done sewing the seams so i can stuff, make ears, add the mane... Elizabeth knows what is coming and it's for her, maybe I'll have hers done for her birthday too (late-mid June)

That's it - hopefully I'll have more progress (and pictures!) next time!

So thankfully that this week is a bit calmer. 1 home lacrosse game and that's it for kid's  activities until the weekend.

So - without further ado, here is our plan for the week!

Monday - Grilled cheese and tomato soup
Tuesday - Slow cooker chicken fajitas
Wednesday - Pasta night - slow cooker sauce with meatballs and thin spaghetti, salad
Thursday - Chicken and rice pilaf dish, with broccoli
Friday - "Happy Hour" Friday dinner: chicken fingers, homemade mozzarella sticks, veggie tray with ranch dip
Saturday - Pizza night
Sunday - Roast chicken, herb baked potatoes (scroll down past the coca-cola chicken recipe for the potato one), and green beans

I'm also going to be doing an assortment of baking. Some as snacks for the kids (esp with the oldest doing lacrosse and the youngest starting baseball, plus the middle child is starving after horseback riding... they have hollow legs, I tell you!). Plus, I volunteered to make snack for the kids in my middle child's class after they are finished with the standardized testing for New York state this week.

Peanut butter cup brownies - for school treat
Homemade granola bars  - after school snack?
Energy balls - sports snack

I'll be subbing in chai seeds for the flax seed, as well as cocoa for coconut in a batch of the energy balls (oldest hates flaked coconut!)

Menu Planning Monday - April 16th

A lot of people I see in my day-to-day life ask me about menu planning, so today this post is for them.

Menu planning is awesome! It has helped me to stream line my grocery shopping list and helps cut down on cost and waste. I check out the weather so I don't try panning too many heavy, hot meals if the weather is going to be nice, or vice versa. Menu planning also helps me to simplify the evening and leaves me with ideas for dinner when dinner time rolls around, rather then having everyone ask "mom, what's for supper?" when they are already starving. I order out less, and cook more. But when I first started menu planning, I completely stressed out when dinner plans didn't turn our perfectly as planned for, I was one seriously stressed out mama.

I recently posted on my personal Facebook wall that "being a mom means being flexible". I think that especially is true when it comes to meal times and coordinating everyone's schedules, with work, activities and sports. With my young, busy family, we are often on the go more then not, especially during the week.

So I'm learning to be flexible. So while I do show what days of the week I try to have specific meals panned for, more often then not things happen. The meat isn't thawed, someone finished the last of the bread (or milk, etc), or a last minute unknown activity calls us away from home. So we often have meals on different days, or something altogether entirely different (you're starving now and want cereal for dinner? sure!). This is why you may see a lot of repeated menu ideas from me from one week to the next - chances are we didn't have that meal and I still have most everything I need to prepare it!

So if are you curious about menu planning and if it will work for you, I saw give it a try! It doesn't matter if you are a family or 1 or 2, or a family of more! Even just for a week or 2 and see if it helps make meal times more pleasant for you and your family.

So - without further ado, here is our plan for the week!

Monday - BLTs
Tuesday - Big breakfast night - french toast, fruit, sausage, etc...
Wednesday - Pasta night - baked ziti with salad
Thursday - YOYO - you're on your own
Friday - Grilling - "anything we can toss on their grill to eat"
Saturday - Pizza night
Sunday - We just haven't decided yet, we may go out.

Menu Planning Monday - April 9th

Menu planning will be vital this week, with the kids being home from school from spring break. As such, I've made a list of lunch ideas I am going to share below our dinner menu plan for the week. My kids love sandwiches, so most of our lunch ideas will be sandwiches.

Thankfully, my trio slept in rather then waking up me rudely on their first day of spring break. Obviously I'm already in heaven and hoping the rest of spring break runs as smoothly (though the girls arguing in the kitchen gives me serious doubts).

Also, some dinners are a carry over form last week, when various snafus turned planned dinners into simple sandwich nights, or even an evening at my in-laws for Easter dinner on Saturday. No complaints here - means less to shop for this week!

Monday: Chicken and rice, green beans
Tuesday: Breakfast for dinner (ham and cheese omelets, waffles, fruit, yogurt)
Wednesday: Pizza, salad, and cinnamon bread sticks
Thursday: Pasta night - plain pasta, marinara sauce
Friday: "Fast Food" Friday (made at home) - chicken strips, burgers, fries
Saturday: fend-for-yourself night
Sunday: Baked ziti, salad

Lunch Ideas
Sandwiches:
Ham Salad
Tuna salad
Egg salad
Peanut butter and Jelly
Homemade hot pockets
Macaroni and cheese
Leftovers
Soup
"sides": grapes, apples, orange segments, raisins, carrots, celery, yogurt

Keep Calm, Craft On

It may not look it now, but by Easter morning this bit of yarn will transform itself into a lovely horse for my sweet Lizzy.

Sadly, Andrew's wonderful wallaby hasn't seen much action since last fall (I did knit a couple of rows, a couple of weeks ago). Thinking I should get on top of that after I finish this horse.

Menu Planning Monday - April 2nd

It's been awhile since I've posted a menu, but here I am again! It's been a crazy whirlwind of a winter and start of spring, and it isn't slowing down at all anytime soon! So thankfully that I menu plan for times like these!

I also found a new printable for weekly dinner planning that I LOVE! you can find it free over at the blog called AE. Or follow this link directly to the post (and download) of the printable!

Here is our week at a glance

Monday: Homemade macaroni and cheese (we use shredded cheddar), with broccoli

Tuesday: Crunchy onion chicken, red potatoes in chive butter sauce

Wednesday: One dish vegetarian dinner (pasta dish)

Thursday: Chicken and rice pilaf, with veggies and dip

Friday: Fried haddock, fries, salad

Saturday: Pizza and bread sticks, with salad

Sunday: Easter dinner - Ham (slow cooker style, so good and it can start cooking while at church!), scalloped and roasted potatoes, green beans, pineapple, and no doubt some desserts will be made too!

Where I've been...

Allover, it feels like.

No one every said this blog would be written with consistency, right? It is, chaotic, after all.

So the update fate:

I found a job
It's the holiday season
I have three children that keep me extraordinarily busy.

Yup, that about sums it up!

So where does that leave me and this blog? I still love to write here, but I need to find a new routine for writing here, esp while i have a more chaotic work schedule until my class is done (i won't even start for another month, and the course is 6 weeks). Then i should have a bit of a normal, set schedule.

Here's to hoping, right?

I will be back this afternoon with another post or two though, so be prepared!!
